FATHERS OVER THE GENERATIONS RESEARCH BRIEF Introduction This study looked at how fatherhood is changing over the generations and how fatherhood is affected by migration. It covered three groups: the Irish who came to Britain in the mid 20th century, the Polish who came in the s, and a group of white British. Key findingsFile Size: KB.   His study also considers how the threat of infertility affects fathers' ability to care for the next generation. Within the current wave of scholarly interest in fathering, this study is grounded in Erik H. Erikson's model of psycho-social generativity, aiming to add a significant dimension to Erikson's theory by applying it to empirical research.5/5(1).

The first step to fathering the next generation of men is to plumb the depths of glory and pain in our own stories. From this place of freedom, we can usher our sons into a manhood we can come to know together. “You do not need to be a perfect man to father well.   The book of Judges notes that, “After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither the Lord nor what He had done for Israel. ” The next verses went on to say that this generation “ did evil, forsook the Lord followed and worshiped other Gods and provoked the Lord in anger ”.

I am the oldest of a generation of 38 (plus spouses) This project has helped me appreciate the fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers that we knew, that molded us into the sons that we are. I am grateful to see the fathers that my brothers, my cousins, the husbands of cousins and sons-in-law have turned into. ISBN: OCLC Number: Description: xv, pages: illustrations ; 23 cm. This book has 3 sections to it. The 1st section has great examples of "bad fathering", the 2nd section has excellent examples of "good fathering". The 3rd section nicely ties up what we can learn from all this, and also includes a nice section on men as mentors. Personally, I got much more out of the 2nd and 3rd sections than the first/5(4).
